Ground floor opportunity to join our Production team at M&J as an entry-level laborer! This is a full-time, permanent position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Position Summary

The Production Assistant Laborer is an entry-level position which allows someone new to the cement industry to learn all aspects of our manufacturing process from the mining of raw materials in our Quarry to the final grinding process to produce our cement. Assists the production area with clean-up and tasks required to keep systems operating through the process cycle. Operates plant mobile equipment including forklifts, Manlifts, Vacuum truck and Portal Reclaimer. Provides support to maintenance, electrical and other groups in the plant as needed.

Comprehensive training is provided. Opportunities to advance based upon performance. Our plant operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Production personnel must be available to work 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends, on a rotating basis.

Job Requirements & Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience in a cement plant or construction industry preferred, but not required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Prior experience operating mobile equipment preferred.
  • Must be able to use basic hand tools including jack hammers, picks, shovels, and brooms.
  • Some experience performing basic maintenance on equipment, including grease, fuel, and cleaning preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to comprehend instructions and follow through on tasks to completion.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders and perform repetitive motion.
  • Must be able to follow safety instructions at all times.
  • Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Must be available for a flexible work schedule to include 12-hour shifts on nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.

Great opportunity for an experienced electrician to join our state-of-the-art cement manufacturing facility in north-central Arizona!

As a Plant Maintenance Electrician, you will be responsible for the electrical maintenance, inspection, installation and repair of all instrumentation and electrical equipment at the cement plant. Requires an understanding of the critical nature of supporting the production functions at the Plant through excellent and professional service, while ensuring safe work procedures and compliance with environmental regulations and product quality requirements.

This is a full-time, permanent position with a full benefits package and competitive pay. The successful candidate must be available to work all shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. Comprehensive training is provided.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Profile

  • Associate degree in related electrical program and 2 years of practical experience (Cement Plant desirable) or at least 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of application, testing, maintenance and repair of industrial equipment
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Reads and produces technical drawings, sketches, and wiring diagrams; shows as-built changes.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Performs activities related to the electrical maintenance, inspection, installation, and/or repair of all instrumentation/electrical equipment of the cement plant such as motors, remote I/Os, VFDs, PLCs, soft starters, control panels, motor control centers, instruments, analyzers, wiring among others.
  • Schedules, and performs preventative maintenance, repair, and calibration of all electrical cement plant equipment (motors, MCCs, control panels, VFDs, etc.).
  • Maintains appropriate records and establishes maintenance and inspection schedules in coordination with the Preventive Maintenance group.
  • Ensures proper cleaning, adjustment and/or greasing of electrical parts.
  • Analyzes procedures and methods and seeks improvements.
  • Inspects completed work for conformity to statutory and company regulations, checks integrity of equipment used and ensures that all required tests are done prior to turn back equipment or system to operations.
  • Ensures that safety procedures are followed on all work assignments.
  • Completes work as requested by the Electrical department manager/supervisor/lead or other plant supervisors to support plant operations.

The role of the Mechanical Maintenance Inspector is to support the Maintenance Supervisor in developing, executing and maintaining programs to ensure efficient operations and reliability of plant equipment. The Maintenance Inspector is responsible for continuously inspecting plant mechanical equipment. Partners with the Maintenance Planner to identify issues, predict failures, and streamline planning. The overall goal is to drive measurable improvements in equipment operation. The successful candidate will have excellent critical thinking skills, initiative and the ability to draw conclusions through research, inspection, observation, analysis, and reporting. This position includes a combination of inspections and repair work.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Industrial manufacturing experience preferred with prior experience in the cement or mining industry desirable.
    ·Prior experience in preventive maintenance programs involving mechanical systems.
    · Ability to understand industrial electrical equipment and the tasks required to maintain and affect repairs.
    · Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and SAP preferred.
    · Strong organizational and time management skills are a must.
    · Must be able to utilize critical thinking skills in everyday work, including evaluation of information through observation, research, and analysis.
    · Must be able to utilize data and assessment to define problems, complete root cause analyses, draw valid conclusions and identify recommended solutions.
    · Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
    · Ability to understand complex technical information.
    · Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and drive projects to a conclusion.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works closely with the Maintenance Supervisor in developing, implementing and monitoringpreventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and performance.
    Functions as a safety advocate and leader, modeling a personal commitment to behaviors that demonstrate a high regard for the safety and health of team members.
    · Responsible for promoting a clean plant and safe working environment.
    · Ensures that plant equipment is operated in compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
    · Support continuous improvement with an emphasis on predictive maintenance. Documents procedures for all preventive programs, providing recommendations to the maintenance team on improvements and implementation.
    · Collects and interprets data, including primary responsibility for daily review of plant equipment.
    · Works with the Maintenance Supervisor and Methods Engineer to ensure systematic checks and inspections of plant equipment are completed.
    · Analyzes and assesses the established preventive maintenance programs, researching and preparing recommendations for improvements to prevent malfunctions, breakdowns and general depreciation.
    · Oversees the construction of an operating history of plant equipment through the documentation of inspection data and operational events.
    · Completes training on all maintenance department responsibilities, including inspections and documentation tasks.
    · Communicates to the maintenance team on the condition of equipment, potential failures or out of standard operating conditions.
    · Communicates with maintenance and production personnel to understand operational issues which impact equipment conditions.
    · Prepares presentations as required on the results of analyses and any proposed recommendations and solutions.
    · Complete other projects as requested by the Maintenance Supervisor, Plant Department Managers and Methods Coordinator as requested.
    · Stays current with new preventive technologies and maintenance practices.

  • Great opportunity for an experienced engineer with a cement and aggregates background to join our team! The Special Projects Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing engineering projects from concept through commissioning at our Arizona cement and aggregates plants. Duties will include capital budget preparation, construction management, scheduling, oversight of contractor work and compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Requires a significant presence on the ground in order to properly inspect, supervise and oversee all aspects of projects. This high-profile position will be centrally located in our corporate office in Scottsdale, AZ and reports to the CEO.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil engineering required.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the cement industry; related experience inaggregates operations and mining a plus.
  • Advanced level user in Microsoft Project required; prior use ofSAP highly preferred.
  • Proficientin Microsoft Office programs including Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word.
  • Strongorganizational skills, detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Strong professional communication skills, both verbal and written, in the English language.

  • Ability to travel 50% of the time; locally as well asnationally and internationally.

Essential Functions

  • Manage assigned projects including design and layouts; reviews engineering firms’ calculations and drawings for compliance with company policies and other regulations.
  • Writesspecifications and requisitions, makes recommendations on vendors and works with Purchasing on contracts.
  • Supervisesand coordinates equipment installation and start-up.
  • Instructspersonnel on maintenance and operations procedures.
  • Recommends spare parts inventories andoversees budgeting.
  • Prepares design calculations and drawings.
  • Assists in preparation of the capital budget including justifications, project definition, drawings, estimating and timelines,
  • Supports local plant personnel in technical matters includingtroubleshooting, critical path scheduling, and equipment and vendor selections.
  • Partners with the environmental department to provide data for permit applications.
  • Ensures updated drawing engineering drawings are maintained and prepares technical data and parts lists.
